Hennock 2015 Horse & Pony Show

Ring 1. Commencing at 10 am

1. Beginners jumping (can be led) height 1ft- Dunscombe forge farriers perpetual Trophy

2. Novice jumping combination not to have been placed 1st height 2ft- Ladywell livery perpetual Trophy

3. Pairs jumping against the clock (4secs added for knock downs) 2ft

4. Open 2ft3- DiNozzo perpetual shield

5. Open 2 ft 6- Tom Flynn perpetual Trophy

6. Open 2 ft 9- Lancer perpetual Trophy

Ring 2. In Hand : Commencing at 10 am

7. Equine Pensioner over 15 years special prize to oldest equine. The Horse Doctor perpetual Trophy

8. Mountain & Moorland. Class may be split Special prize to best equine 3 yrs and under.

9. Young stock class. Potential ridden or driven horse/pony 3yrs or under Special prize for best Dartmoor hill pony.

10.Best coloured- to include Spotted, Dun, Palomino- Can be either In hand or ridden

LUNCH  

11.Performance pony- To complete in hand test.

12.Performance pony- To complete a ridden test.

Top two Dartmoor hill ponies qualify for Championship- Venue to be announced.

*Followed by Gymkhana- (if sufficient entries) classes decided on the day

Ring 3 ridden: Commencing at 10am

13. Best turned out. Special prize for best lead rein

14. Best lead rein pony 12.2h & under rider 10yrs or under. Special prize for best Thelwell Pony. Cream puff  Memorial perpetual Trophy

15. Best Pony Club Pony.14.2 h & under.  Required to jump a small jump. Tinkerbell memorial perpetual Trophy

16.Best Riding Club Horse. Over 14.2 h. Required to jump a small jump. Romulus memorial perpetual Trophy

17.Best combination (may be split Horses/Ponies). The Mayne Family perpetual Trophy

18. Mountain & Moorland type. Class may be split into large & small breeds. The Palk Arms perpetual Trophy

19. Best Cob. Special prize for best traditional cob. Tonto memorial perpetual Shield

20. Best family horse or pony (snaffle bridle only) Cherokee Chief Memorial perpetual Trophy

21.Working Hunter 14.2h or under. Required to jump. The Bliss Spa Beauty Salon perpetual Trophy

22.Working Hunter over 14.2h Required to jump. Sampson Haylage perpetual Trophy

23.Hennock Country Fayre Championship (Free to Enter) Open to all 1st 2nd placed competitors from class 7-22

Perpetual trophy to winner.

Ring 4.

Clear round jumping. Entry fee £2.00 with rosette or £1without.

Followed by Horse and Hound £2.00 Entries and payment at ringside. Rosettes and prizes in kind

Compulsory extra £1.00 Per competitor first aid cover payable to St John Ambulance

From Chudleigh Knighton, take B3344, go past Clay Cutters Arms , at Dunley Cross turn right, continue for approx 1.5 miles past Dunley Farm, continue on Stickwick Hill & Hele Farm is on the right.

Please park ALL HORSE VEHICLES towards the LEFT HEDGE of the field. ONLY VEHICLES TOWING HORSE BOXES / TRAILERS OR LORRIES ARE ALLOWED IN THE SHOW FIELD.

Due to lack of space in the field, cars without trailers or horse boxes ARE POLITELY REQUESTED to park in the main village fayre car park further along the lane as in previous years. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE HORSE SHOW FIELD.

Potential Performance Pony Rules and guidelines

Open to all ponies up to 14.2hh, any age, any breed. Special rosettes for top two Dartmoor Hill Ponies (Definition: A pony who was bred on the commons of Dartmoor and whose sire and dam run on said commons).

This is a qualifier for the Dartmoor Hill Pony Championship to be held at Kingsbridge Show 2015. First two Dartmoor ponies qualify.

 

TEST FOR PERFORMANCE IN-HAND PONIES

1. Lead out from line and enter circle of bollards between A and B. 10

Stand SQUARE for Judges’ inspection

2. TACK and TURNOUT, including handler 10

3. TURN on the FOREHAND 180 degrees within the CIRCLE 10

4. REVERSE out of the CIRCLE between bollards C and D 10

5. Lead over to CARPET on a LOOSE rein 10

6. Lead onto CARPET and stand for a count of THREE. 10

Please count aloud.

7. Trot over white pole to BOLLARD X 10

8. At BOLLARD X pick up and hold forefoot for a count of THREE 10

Please count aloud.

9. TROT back to judge, leading from the OFFSIDE, and HALT 10

at Judge

10. Overall impression of calmness and obedience 10

TEST FOR PERFORMANCE RIDDEN PONIES

1. Ride out from line and enter circle of bollards between A and B. 10

Stand SQUARE for Judges’ inspection

2. TACK and TURNOUT, including rider 10

3. TURN on the FOREHAND 180 degrees within the CIRCLE 10

4. REVERSE out of the CIRCLE between bollards C and D 10

5. Turn and TROT over WHITE pole 10

6. Pick up FLAG from large BOLLARD and TROT up to BOLLARD X 10

carrying flag.

7. Circle bollard X then WALK back to LARGE BOLLARD and replace FLAG 10

8. DISMOUNT after replacing flag and pick up and hold forefoot for a count 10

THREE. Please count aloud.

9. Lead back to judge, leading from the OFFSIDE, and mount from the 10

OFFSIDE

10. Overall impression of calmness and obedience 10
